Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
God comforts us so that we can comfort others with the comfort we received from him. Our trouble doesn’t have to match the trouble of the other person because his comfort is universal, it is effective for any trouble. The comfort that we received from God when people mistreat us is the same comfort he provides for the widow and orphan or soldier in combat. How has God comforted you?
